Before transitioning to real estate, Craig had a successful career in collegiate athletics. He served five years as the head baseball coach and athletic director at Eastern Oklahoma State College, where he earned Region 2 Conference Coach of the Year honors twice—becoming the youngest recipient of the award at just 26 years old. Under his leadership, the Mountaineers won two conference championships, produced 15 Academic All-Americans and 2 NJCAA All-Americans, and helped 54 players reach the professional or university level. Craig also spent a season as a student assistant coach at the University of Arkansas under legendary coach Dave Van Horn.
